Don't Miss Out On The First Time Home Buyers Federal Tax Credit: The deadline for the maximum $8,000 first time home buyers tax credit is fast approaching. You must close before December 1st in order to take advantage of the credit. Kenneth Hamey of the Washington Post reports that the National Association of Realtors is heavily lobbying congress to extend the deadline, but there are so many other priorities for congress right now that it’s a tough road.
